Aphrodite rises from the foam of the waves of the sea, enchanting anyone who sees her and inciting feelings of love and lust wherever she goes. She is a contender in the story of the Golden Apples, when Paris chooses her as the fairest of the three goddesses (the others were Hera and Athena) and Aphrodite decides to "reward" him for giving her the Golden Apple (the prototype of most modern awards) by giving him the love of Helen of Troy, something of a mixed blessing that led to the Trojan War. Cold-cast resin statue approx 11 1/4" tall, in white finish.

Anubis, the son of Osiris and Nephthys, is portrayed here in his jackal form, though he is more commonly represented as a jackal headed man. Anubis attained his fame after conducting the first embalming in history on his father Osiris, whom was dismembered by his brother, Set. This granted Osiris immortality, and both father and son ruled of aspects of the underworld. This statue is cold cast resin & hand painted. He is 5 1/2" long.

Canopic Jars were used to hold the organs of the dead after they were embalmed. The lids were commonly carved to resemble the four sons of Horus. The four organs housed by the jars were the lungs, the stomach, the liver and the intestines. Egyptians held no regard for the brain, which was discarded. The heart was left inside the body, to be judged in the afterlife. The set of four Canopic jars are cold cast resin & hand painted. They are all 3 3/4" high.

He recorded the results of the weighing of a spirits heart against the feather of Ma`at. He is also credited with the invention of astronomy, geometry and medicine. She was the mother of Horus the Younger and wife and sister of Osiris. Considered to be the greatest magician of all time, Isis` accomplishments include bringing Osiris back to life and helping him become a god in the underworld and forcing the god Ra to reveal his secret name to her. SO306: Obelisk (8 1/2"high)
Obelisk, Cold cast resin Hand painted, 8 1/2" high x 2" square base. From the Greek word meaning; "a spit". It is a monumental tapering shaft usually made of pink granite. Capped with a pyramid ion at the top. Obelisks are solar symbols similar in meaning to pyramids, they are associated with an ancient stone called BENBEN in Heliopolis. They were set in pairs, at the entrances of temples, and to some Old Kingdom tombs.

Beautifully created, 9.5" tall cold cast resin statue, depicting Ptah. Ptah is the primal creator, the first of all the gods, creator of the world and all that is in it. He is not created, but simply is. In some stories he is the personification of the primal matter, Ta-Tenen, which rose out of Nun, the fundamental seas. His wife is said to be Bast (or Sakhmet) and their children are Nefertem, Mahes, and Imhotep.

The Greek god of war and battle and the instigator of violence, a son of Zeus and Hera. Because of his cruel and war-like nature he was despised by all the gods, even his own father disliked him. Ares could be bloody, merciless, fearful and cowardly and possessed no moral attributes. He was, however, unable to withstand the loveliness of Aphrodite, who subsequently became his consort. Ares was of giant stature and had a loud voice, and surpassed the other gods in speed. On the battlefield Ares was accompanied by Phobos ("Fear") and Deimos ("Terror"), two lesser divinities who are sometimes given as his sons. He was furthermore attended by the goddesses Eris ("Strife") and Enyo ("Horror"). Ares is also the father of the Harmonia, the goddess of harmony, and of the Amazons Penthesilea and Hippolyte.
